The hare ran down the road, still crying, and there he met a bear.
"What are you crying for, Brother Hare?" asked the bear.
"You'd cry, too, if you were in my place! I had a house made of bark and the fox had a house of ice. The fox asked me to let her in and then chased me out of my own house!"
"Don't cry, Brother Hare, I'll help you."
"You can't help me. The dog tried and couldn't chase her out."
"But I'll chase her out!"
They went to the hare's house and the bear growled:
"Get out of there!"
"If I jump down there I'll make your fur fly all over the field," shouted the fox from her high place on the stove.
The bear took fright and ran away.
